A new feature on Transfermarkt now allows users from all 27 country domains to discuss player market values in a single, unified forum, eliminating previous language barriers. Market values are the core of Transfermarkt, and until now, each domain had its own separate discussion space for the leagues it covers. Starting now, fans can engage in a global conversation without having to switch domains, thanks to an integrated translation tool.
“After the successful internationalization of the rumor section, market value analysis is the second forum where Transfermarkt applies this global approach,” said Christian Schwarz, director of the International Department at Transfermarkt. “With this, we aim to offer our users worldwide a better opportunity to participate in market value discussions and exchange arguments with users from other countries. Contributions from the international Transfermarkt community will continue to be an important foundation for our market value team when determining values,” he added.
Transfermarkt’s market values are calculated using various pricing models, with a significant input from the community where members discuss and evaluate player values in detail. The values are not meant to match actual transfer fees but rather represent the expected market value of a player. Individual transfer circumstances and the overall context are considered, and no algorithm is used—values are determined based on community criteria.
Do you want to debate a foreign league player’s new market value with experts from that league? Now you can, directly in the new international forum. Users can access all discussion topics for any league, regardless of their home domain. For example, Portuguese league fans can leave suggestions about their league’s values in the common forum.
