Following last weekend’s clash against Corinthians in the Brazilian Championship, São Paulo resumed training on Monday (11) as they prepare for a decisive Copa do Brasil fifth-round second-leg match against Juventude on Wednesday (13) at Alfredo Jaconi stadium.

The session at SuperCT saw the squad split into two groups. Starters from the derby engaged in regenerative exercises, while the rest worked on the pitch. After warm-ups and possession drills, the latter group played a small-sided game.

There was also positive news regarding injured players. Midfielder Pablo Maia, who underwent surgery on April 10 to correct nasal and facial fractures, joined the team training after recent individual work with the fitness staff.

Meanwhile, right-back Lucas Ramon (left calf injury) and defender Rafael Toloi (dealing with pain in the same area) performed field exercises with physiotherapy support. Alan Franco ran on the grass under the supervision of the physiotherapists.

With a 1-0 lead from the first leg at Morumbi (goal by Luciano), São Paulo only needs a draw to advance. Preparations will conclude on Tuesday (12) before the team travels to Caxias do Sul.
