Real Madrid have released their squad list for the La Liga Matchday 35 encounter against Barcelona, notably omitting French forward Kylian Mbappe. The team sheet was published on the club’s official X account.
Earlier reports had suggested that the 27-year-old striker had recovered from an injury and was expected to feature in El Clasico. However, at the end of April, Mbappe was diagnosed with a hamstring injury in his left leg.
Midfielder Federico Valverde has also been left out of the Madrid squad. According to media sources, the Uruguayan sustained a concussion following an altercation with teammate Aurelien Tchouameni. The French midfielder, meanwhile, has been included in the matchday squad.
The clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid will take place on Sunday in Barcelona, with kickoff scheduled for 22:00 Moscow time. A draw would be enough for the Catalan side to secure the league title early.
This season, Mbappe has made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring 41 goals. He currently leads the scoring charts in both La Liga and the Champions League.
