FC Porto coach Francesco Farioli praised midfielder Tiago Silva after his debut in the 3-1 loss to AVS, highlighting his qualities and impact on the game. Speaking at the press conference at the Estádio do Desportivo das Aves, Farioli explained that the young player’s debut was a well-deserved reward for his hard work.
“Tiago Silva has been with us for a long time, raising the level in every training session. He has been on my radar since I arrived, works hard, has passing ability, and is aggressive. His entry brought us interesting things—he played with personality and had a positive impact,” said Farioli.
The coach also had words for Prpic, who was sent off in the same match. “His last game was in December, but in my opinion, he played well. He was involved in both goals—the one we scored and the one that was disallowed by centimeters. Unfortunately, he won’t be available for the last game, but we are pleased with his performance, though not with the red card.”
When asked about potential debuts for the final matchday of the season, Farioli replied: “We have a week to think about it. We’ll start the week and see how it goes, finishing in the best way possible in front of our fans. We want to reach the celebration with the right feelings. It’s important to get to 88 points.”
