Echo Plan’ Constructs 42 Multi-functional Basketball Courts, Donates Over 18,000 Sports Equipment Items

Launched in May 2025, the “Echo Plan” is a public welfare initiative exploring a sustainable model that combines digital content with social philanthropy. As of April 2026, the “Fearless Build Dream Courts” project, a key part of the plan, has built 42 multi-functional basketball courts across 24 counties in 12 provinces nationwide. It has donated more than 18,000 pieces of sports equipment, trained 75 physical education teachers, and benefited over 31,255 rural children.

The project uses basketball as a bridge, converting player engagement into tangible support to improve sports conditions in underdeveloped areas. It follows a “hardware + software” approach: constructing versatile courts that also accommodate soccer, badminton, and other sports, while training rural teachers through specialized camps to build a systematic sports education framework.

A 12-year-old student from Guizhou, Chen Qingke, shared on a 5V5 court, “Standing here now, I want to tell more girls: don’t be afraid, just go for it!” She once played on dirt grounds but has now become a key forward on the new court.

Teacher training is a core module. Since 2025, multiple basketball public welfare training camps have been held, where rural teachers from various provinces learn from experts. The sessions transform campus league rules into games playable during 10-minute breaks. After training, many teachers reported immediate applicability. For instance, Teacher Fu from Guizhou said, “I used to think basketball class was about teaching sports, but now I know it’s about teaching growth. When kids run and laugh, that’s basketball’s real use.”

In September 2025, the “Echo Plan” partnered with NBA China and the One Foundation to provide professional coaching and curriculum guidance. In May 2026, the “Fearless Tour Basketball Charity Training Camp” introduced a 6-person NBA coaching team to offer tiered instruction for 58 rural teachers from 11 provinces, covering ball handling, passing, pick-and-rolls, and defensive rotations.

Zlatan, a coach from Serbia, was impressed by the teachers’ dedication: “Everyone worked toward the same goal—they wanted to learn and pass on professional skills to students. Basketball has brought me so much joy, and I see it opening up a broader world for many students. That’s why these teachers persist.”

During the “Fearless Contract Esports Basketball All-Star Exhibition Game,” participating teams’ scores and interactive segments accumulated points that were instantly converted into basketball equipment. In total, 43,000 pieces of equipment were raised and distributed to beneficiary schools nationwide.

Secretary-General of the One Foundation, Li Hong, emphasized, “Sports are not just about physical exercise. They help children enjoy themselves and build mental resilience. Through competitions, they learn to face wins and losses, stand up after setbacks, and move toward a bigger world.”

Observers note that this model, rooted in digital content and supported by systematic execution, offers a fresh approach for social forces to engage in public services.
